What it is
Card Arena is a web marketplace for sports trading cards — Panini, Topps, etc. Users can list cards for sale, browse the catalogue, and connect with collectors across Europe.
This project is heavily WIP and currently on-hold.
The challenge
Marketplaces are deceptively complex. Beyond listing and browsing, you need solid user accounts, fast and flexible search across a large catalogue with a lot of metadata (set, rarity, condition, player, team), and enough trust signals to make strangers comfortable trading with each other.
Getting search right was the biggest investment — users expect to slice by any combination of attributes instantly.
